Mystery of the murder of three doctors in the same family in Multan: "How can a father who loves his only daughter kill her?"

On Friday, January 22, the door of the house opens at around 11 am and a person leaves with new currency notes which are handed over to the occupants living upstairs.

Today, the millionaire father has called for these new notes for his only daughter as she is going to Karachi for an exam the next day and the father fears that the daughter may get infected with the corona epidemic from the notes used in another city.

About 40 minutes later, in the same room upstairs where the loving father teaches his daughter daily, a bullet is fired and his only daughter, herself a mother of three, falls on the bed covered in blood.  She was rushed to a hospital but died on the way because the bullet had hit her in the groin.

After a while, when the father's room is seen, it is locked from inside and does not open even after continuous knocking.  Meanwhile, in a state of distress, the police are called who breaks down the door and enters and finds the body of the father who has been shot dead in the compartment.

According to police, Dr Azhar Hussain, a well-known psychiatrist in Multan, has apparently committed suicide by killing his beloved daughter Dr Aliza, whom he affectionately called Pinky, knowingly or unknowingly.

Dr. Azhar Hussain, who retired from the psychiatry department of Nishtar Hospital Multan, had been running his clinic for the past several years and used to check up dozens of patients daily.

For some time now, Dr. Azhar Hussain used to see the patients from 10 am to 3 am and later his daughter Aliza used to check up the patients from 3 pm to 6 pm.  She has been practicing at her father's clinic for the last two and a half years.

Just a week had passed since the news of the alleged death of this pampered and sensible daughter at the hands of her father and the apparent suicide of Dr. Azhar Hussain as a result of it.  The burnt body of brother Dr Mohib Saleem was also recovered from his house in Sakhi Sultan Colony.

CCTV cameras showed Dr Mohib Saleem not only buying petrol from a pump but also setting himself on fire in his house, after which police concluded that he had also committed suicide.

Dr. Mohib Saleem was also retired from Nishtar Hospital Multan and was teaching in a private hospital.  Dr. Mohib Saleem divorced his first wife fifteen years ago and his second wife Lt. Col. Rukhsana, who is stationed at CMH Multan, was living in Multan Cantt with a 14-year-old son.

Dr. Azhar Hussain retired from the psychiatry department of Nishtar Hospital Multan and had been running his clinic for many years.

The sudden demise of these three doctors from the same family not only caused a wave of grief in Multan but also in the surrounding areas as Dr Azhar Hussain was a renowned psychologist not only in Multan but in the entire South Punjab.  Were

No one in the city is ready to believe that his daughter was allegedly killed by Dr Azhar Hussain and as a result he also committed suicide.  Similarly, everyone is wondering what were the reasons that his brother Dr. Mohib Saleem also allegedly set himself on fire.

People are unable to understand how a father who loves his only daughter so much can kill her.

What happened that Dr. Azhar Hussain had to pull out a pistol, was it just an accident or something ...  And why did Dr. Saleem set himself on fire, what were the circumstances from which he got fed up and set himself on fire, everyone is looking for answers with open questions.

The BBC has spoken to Dr Azhar Hussain's family in Multan, police and psychologists to find out various aspects of the case.

Pinky's husband and Dr. Azhar Hussain's son-in-law Dr. Adnan Ijaz, Dr. Azhar Hussain's widow Bushra Begum, Dr. Azhar Hussain's brothers Ali Hassan and Ashraf Zia and Pinky's Nishtar Medical College teacher and head of psychology Dr. Naeem Leghari all said this.  Agree that the father-daughter relationship was wonderful.

Dr. Azhar Hussain had brought up his only daughter with great pampering and love and the life of the parents was stuck in them.  Just a few months ago, he built a house worth crores of rupees right in front of his house so that he could be in front of his eyes all the time.

On the other hand, Aliza, at the insistence of her father, not only chose the path of becoming a psychologist, but despite her marriage, she used to come daily from her father-in-law's house in Beach Villas to her parents' house in Justice Hameed Colony for the last seven years.  He also started practicing there at the request of his father.

Dr. Azhar Hussain had brought up his only daughter Aliza with great care and affection and she was a parrot in which her parents were trapped.

Dr Azhar Hussain's widow Bushra Begum told the BBC that on the day of the accident, around 10 am, she got a call from Pinky as usual to pick her up from her father-in-law.

"We affectionately called my daughter Pinky and her father had given her this name since she was born because he used to say that just like Benazir, Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto's Pinky, Aliza is my Pinky."

According to Bushra Begum, when she started going out to fetch her daughter, her husband gave her Rs 3,000 for petrol and later gave her another Rs 2,000 and told her to fetch petrol on the way so that her daughter could have a pump  But don't have to stand.

"When I came home with my daughter and three grandchildren, they greeted her like every day.  He always greeted his daughter and met her every day as if he had met her years later.

According to Begum, since Pinky had to go to Karachi for FCPS exam on January 23, she told her mother to take her children and sit in the room. I have to prepare a little, so she went to her room.

Bushra Begum said: "I was just having breakfast for the children when I heard an explosion. I panicked and asked the employees what had happened.  As my husband was leaving Pinky's room, I asked him what had happened, to which he replied that he had been shot.  I asked where the bullet had hit, so he said on the roof and after saying that he went to his room.

I was terrified and at that time the maid came and told me that the doctor had shot Pinky Baji, after which I went to her room screaming and saw that my daughter was lying on the bed covered in blood.  Then I called my brother-in-law Ali Hassan who works in the pharmacy below.  Together with them, we immediately put Pinky in the car and took her to Nishtar Hospital where she was told that she had died on the way.

As I was leaving, my brother-in-law Ali was told to see his brother and tell him not to do anything for himself, but when he returned home after a while, Ali told him that the doctor was not opening the door and he entered the room.  Has been closed since.

Dr. Azhar Hussain's widow Bushra Begum said that on the day of the accident, around ten o'clock in the morning, she got a call from Pinky like every day to cook for her father-in-law.

In the same predicament, he called the police who broke down the door and saw that Dr. Azhar had been shot in the head, which had killed him.  For me, these were the scenes of the Hour.  In an instant my whole house fell into disrepair.  Someone called and all my happiness was eaten away. '

Begum Bushra herself does not understand how all this happened in an instant, why her husband allegedly shot his only daughter and then committed suicide.

Regarding the father-daughter relationship, she says that since Pinky was their only child, Dr. Azhar Hussain loved his daughter from the very beginning and always fulfilled her every wish.

According to Begum, her husband loved her so much that ever since she got married, she had been obliged to get up every morning to text him.

For the last seven years, Pinky used to text him every morning as soon as he woke up. I'm ok and he would get up at seven in the morning waiting for this message and would be restless until the message came.  Whenever I asked him about this anxiety, he would say that when I open my eyes, I get anxious because I don't know how my daughter spent the night.

She added that she loved her grandchildren so much that she would pick straw, paper and thread from the ground so that the children would not put anything in her mouth.

According to Begum, her husband had corona phobia and had completely stopped going out of the house in Corona's days.

Begum added that her husband was very upset because of Corona and had isolated himself for the past few months.

"They were not like anyone, not even relatives or patients.  The staff would check the patients and inform them on the intercom and they would prescribe the medicine.  The house contained bottles of sanitizer and several cotton N-95 masks for the daughter.

On the other hand, according to Dr. Adnan Ijaz, son-in-law of Dr. Azhar Hussain, his father-in-law was suffering from some mental illness but he never got tested and such people do not get tested so as not to be caught.  And events show that he had this problem.

Talking about Dr. Azhar Hussain's psychological problems, his brother Ali Hassan said that he was taking precautions to protect his brother from Corona, so we cannot say that he had become mentally ill.

He was still treating patients giving them medicine and he was recovering

Bushra Begum claims that she has no enmity with anyone and there was no difference between the father and the daughter and there was no quarrel between the husband and wife but the police investigation tells a different story.  ۔

SHO Chahlik Inspector Bashir Hiraj told the BBC that the investigation proved that Dr Azhar Hussain had remarried in 2016 to a girl named Kaniz Fatima who was working as a staff at his clinic.
